AGDev, AudioGames.net and a number of accessible game companies, including All-in-Play, BSC Games and GMA Games, have been mentioned on an article by Wired magazine about games for blind people. The article will be read by a very large number of people and should provide an excellent opportunity for awareness amongst the sighted world to be raised!

After 10 positive votes, the Constitution has been officially voted in! We have also got an extra member, and a number of new home pages, viewable from CategoryHomepage. An advert banner has been added to the FrontPage, too, to promote the sites of our members (sites are picked at random).

A new page editing policy has been implemented. When you edit a page, someone else may come along and try to edit the same one. Previously, they were just warned that there may be changes lost because two (or more) people are working on the same page at the same time. Now, the system actually blocks more than one person from editing the page. It is hoped that this will make editing more predictable for users. If you have any questions about this change or objections to it, please consult the Technical Coordinator.
It is important that you use the "Cancel" button to abort editing instead of just closing your browser window, as this removes the block on editing a page. If you just close the window, the page will remain blocked for up to 10 minutes. If you need more time to edit a page than 10 minutes, use the "Preview" button to extend the locking period. It is always a good idea to preview and spell-check your pages before submitting them, anyway.

The latest edition of the
International Game Developers association Accessibility SIG Whitepaper will be mentioning AGDev.org! Thanks to the team behind the paper, awareness has been raised amongst key game developers regarding disability issues (not just limited to sight loss/impairment). The paper will be presented at the HCI conference, as well as GDC (one of the key events for mainstream game developers) in March.
For more information, check out the
IGDA Accessibility SIG and
Forum.
